Waaaaay too hot for May

WHAT is up with this weather?  I was banking on maybe a week of hot weather toward the end of my pregnancy, not 2-3 months of it!  Blech, if I wanted to deal with this we would have planned on an August baby!  Thank goodness for air conditioning, I wouldn't be getting any sleep if it were this hot in the house.  Still, it's frustrating to be so uncomfortable outside, since the sun is pretty and I'd like to take the kids more...but YUCK.

We did venture out to Aullwood this morning...went to the farm side and visited the new Farm Education Building and the animals.  The lambs were adorable!  Gotta love baby sheep...all the soft wooly goodness!  The Braxton Hicks started up there again today and have been having them on and off ever since...could do without those.  Really.

I'm 35 weeks today - 5 weeks to go!  Toby has 3 more weeks of school, then Lucy has 2 weeks of swim lessons.  THEN I can have a baby.  That's the plan and I'm sticking to it.  Still have lots of things to finish up for baby too, though most of my list is done or close to it.

Toby is very excited about the baby....last night he told me he was so happy I was pregnant, but he does feel bad for the baby because it will never get the chance to be a big brother or sister to another baby...lol.  Very sweet, but that's a never ending cycle son.  It's gotta end sometime!  Lucy is still mostly fascinated with my belly button and the fact that she can push it in and it pops back out.  Haha, except it HURTS.

T-ball is going well - Lucy has 2 more weeks, and Toby has a game tonight, then a break next weekend and then a couple Monday games to finish out his season.  Can't believe we're over halfway through the season already - it feels like it just started!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Belated Mother's Day!  Lucy and I got all dolled up on Friday night for the Mother Daughter Banquet at her church.

Both kids really wanted a picture with me, though you can't tell it from their expressions!
Finally, a decent picture of me and the bump!  33 (almost 34) weeks in this one.  Still carrying super high with this one - much higher than I have before!

Go Astros!

I was able to take my camera to last night's lovely weather for a t-ball game!  Toby's on the Astros this year and plays 1-2 games a week.
It's a hit!

Flying Pig 2012

Before the race
Before the race
So this weekend was the Flying Pig in Cincy!  We really made a weekend of it - on Saturday we had to be there to pick up Curtis's packet for his Big Race, and the kids races were Saturday as well, so we signed Toby up for the kid's 1 mile, and Lucy up for the piglet races (100 yard).  I had originally registered for the 5k, but in the last couple weeks decided that that would be taking on too much and I wouldn't be able to run much of it anyway so I switched my registration so I could accompany Toby (and I was sure glad I did - with 4000 kids in the race, it was a madhouse and it made me feel better for him to have an adult along!)

Look at those medals!

Marathon Man!
And Sunday was Curtis's big race!  He had to be there very early and caught a ride with our pastor, who was also running the race...so the kids and I were able to sleep in until a grand 5:30!  Then we headed down for the party cheering zones.  These pictures are from mile 9.

Coming in for a High 5!
Overall it was a good race.  The weather was hot and humid, and he suffered a bit of heat exhaustion/ dehydration and had to make a stop by the medical tent after crossing the finish line, but he came out of the chute feeling much improved.  In fact, his post-race recovery has been much easier than his last couple long runs, so we're guessing he's been a bit dehydrated for the days following his runs.  So all is well now and he's very happy with his race!

32 weeks and ready for a slow jog!

Home from mom's midwife appt
May has come in like...well July really.  I planned to have a baby in June to avoid the hottest part of the summer pregnant...you all can see how well that is working for me.  I am melting, I swear.  The house is like a sauna, but we're too stubborn to turn on the a/c before Memorial Day.  Plus one more day and it's supposed to cool off again...so we just have to stick it out for another 24 hours!

Both kids have now started t-ball - i don't have pictures of Toby playing yet because he's had the worst weather for his 2 games so far!  But last night was Lucy's first night, and it was a lovely evening for t-ball...a little hot perhaps, but not raining anyway!  She did wonderfully and had a great time!

Had my 32 week appointment today...everything is looking good.  I'm doing well, just normal 3rd trimester complaints of back pain and heartburn.  The head is looking a little big for 32 weeks, but no surprise there considering the size of my other two.   I was happy to hear they don't get too ultrasound happy unless the baby is looking to be 11+ lbs, and God know I'm praying I don't have a baby that big!  Sounds like this one should be on par with big brother and sis.

Next appointment is in 2 weeks...boy those appointments are coming fast and furious now!
