Baby Poll!

http://www.expectnet.com/game.php

This is a baby poll where you can all go and guess when the baby will come, how big he will be, etc. If the link doesn't take you directly to the game, the login for the game is BabyBoyMears. After the baby is born, the game will let us know who wins!

Well, the tree is up and the apartment is decorated! We even took our Christmas picture this weekend! Curtis is leaving later this week for Southern Virginia for two weeks...I am trying to save up everything I have to do to help the time pass quicker! Once he comes home, it won't be long before we're driving home for Christmas! How quickly the seasons pass...

Hope your November 29th is nicer than ours...here it has rained on and off all day...in fact it has rained 3 out of the last 5 days. Ugh. At least it's not snow!

Autumn Blahs

Well, after two days of rain/ clouds I am ready to throw in the towel and go back to bed! Lex doesn't even want to go outside! And now it's windy so even though it's in the 50's, it feels much cooler.

Baby is kicking a lot lately, especially after I eat. And I've had this craving for coke with maraschino cherry juice (apparently cherry coke just doesn't do the trick) so after one of those he gets Very Active! Curtis still isn't feeling much, and I have to wonder if that's not due to the anterior placenta...you know, an extra cushion between him and the baby.

Tomorrow is Curtis's birthday, so I'm going to put ribs in the slow cooker in the morning and let them cook all day long....mmmm. I've hidden all the cards he's gotten in the mail so far so he can't sneak them open before his birthday...it's driving him nuts! I've been a little hormonal lately (to put it mildly) so he totally deserves a day all about him! Well, an evening anyway, since h'll be at work all day...he can't complain too much though since he has a 4 day weekend.

I knitted a red sweater with white fluffy trip for the dog over the weekend..it's for our Christmas picture this year. We'll have to take the picture this weekend after we decorate. I was going to use the extra year for a Santa hat for myself, but after three aborted attempts, I am sticking to red socks with white trim at the cuff :) Just couldn't find a pattern for the hat that I liked.

Well, obviously there's not a lot going on here, so I will cut this off before I bore you readers to sleep. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Almost Thanksgiving...

Wow, I can't believe Thanksgiving is almost here! Although I don't think we'll be celebrating much...I'm not in the mood to cook a giant meal for two people while Curtis watches football all day :) So I think I'll cook a nice meal for his birthday the day before and let someone else cook for me on Thanksgiving...as long as I can find some restaurants open. I'm definitely looking foward to decorating for Christmas, so after Thanksgiving I'll have Curtis pull down the boxes of decorations! There's just something so cheerful about a Christmas tree...even if it is a fake one. Believe it or not, it is very hard to find decent Christmas trees in our part of North Carolina, even though they grow them in droves up in the mountains :) There's not much else going on...just laundry and cold weather, nothing exciting!

Long Weekend!

We had a great weekend! My parents came down for the holiday weekend, and it flew by way too fast! On Saturday we drove down to Myrtle Beach and spent the day divided between the beach and the shops. It was a beautiful day, and we had a blast! We even took Lex! On Sunday we went to the North Carolina Zoo, which is in Ashboro, about 45 minutes from home. It was a fabulous zoo, with some of the best exhibits I've seen anywhere. Most of the animals were even out where we could see them; it was a great day! I was sad to see Mom and Dad leave, but at least it's only 6 weeks until Christmas...yay! This week I am taking things easy...resting up I guess!

The baby kicked Curtis in the head last night! Curtis was listening to the baby and wham! right in the ear! The baby usually gets pretty still when Curtis is anywhere around, so that was pretty cool.

Today it's supposed to be 75 degrees here today, but it's supposed to cool off by Thursday...yuck! I like our mild falls!

End of the Weekend Blues

Sunday night...which means tomorrow is Monday morning :( But, I have a dr appt tomorrow, so Curtis is coming home after a half-day to drive me to my appointment. Then he only works Tuesday and Wednesday, since he gets Thursday as his Veterans Day holiday and Friday is off as usual...so I suppose I shouldn't complain at all! I'm listening to Kenny Chesney and Gretchen Wilson tonight while I type, so if I seem a little melancholy...

Today was Lex's 2nd birthday, so we celebrated! We went hiking at the Reservoir..Lex loves long walks and we love wearing him out, so it was good for everyone! The weather was beautiful too, and the leaves are really starting to turn shades of gold and red. Then we madea detour by PetSmart...we needed to pick up a thing or two, and it's Lex's favorite store (well, it's the only store he's been in, but still...there are all kinds of things to smell and other dogs to meet). Then we came home and Lex slept for 3 hours, so I think we did our job :)

November 1

Can you believe it's so late in the year already? 2005 is almost over! Soon enough Thanksgiving will be here, then Christmas, and before you know it bam! 2006.

Life is settling down here (at last!). It's almost too quiet for me though. I could use a little more excitement! I guess we've just had so much going on the last few weeks...well, months really. It's been nonstop since Curtis left in the beginning of July.

Baby Mears is kicking up a storm...especially when I sit at the computer. He always lets me know right where he is! It's so nice ot know everything's ok. Curtis hasn't felt him yet, but I'm sure that's coming.

Well, good Tuesday to you all,
Chel
