Happy Father's Day!

We started the day with no particular plans for Father's Day. I had folded and already given Curtis his Father's Day gifts (I get too excited sometimes!). Toby had a card for Daddy...he helped pick out the Nemo card, and yesterday we colored it and hit it away. So this morning we gave it to daddy...juast as Curtis went to open it, Toby yells, "NEMO!" LOL, so take it to heart and don't tell him any secrets!

I thought we'd spend the day lazing around, but Curtis decided he wanted nothing to do with sitting around today...he wanted to take the kids to the zoo! Pics to follow...sorry they are all out of order but it would take me forever to get them straightened out tonight :)

Luci turned 6 months today, so here she is in all her cubby goodness! Her 6 month checkup is tomorrow morning, so I can't wait to update with her stats!

We stopped at Burger King for lunch today before the zoo...Toby got his first BK crown, and he wears it with pride!
When we were done at the zoo, Curtis and Toby took the bus to the other parking lot to get the car and come back for Luci, me, and the stroller o' fun and stuff. So Luci and I played with the camera :)Here's Toby checking out an iguana
The rhinos relaxing in the shade
A fierce lion...ok, she was actually midyawn but it sure looks fierce, doesn't it?
My beautiful smile!

Daddy and Toby by the bison
Toby watching the grizzly chillin in the pool

Toby and Luci on the stump!

Daddy and Toby in front of the alligators
A tadpole! It's a pretty cool pic, click on it to view the larger version

Like I said, all out of order, but we had a blast today! It was a great day to go, not too hot and not too crowded.
We have a lot to do the next few days so enjoy the pics and we will be seeing some of you in person soon!

More Pictures

Well I didn't mean for this to be the first one up, but I guess that's the order I uploaded in...

I got a new do yesterday! I'm growing my hair out but it has definitely reached stage BLAH, so here's my solution! Have I mentioned how much I LOVE my stylist?

Here's the dress I've been hard at work on the last week. It's for Jordon and Erin's wedding (couldn't find what I wanted in the stores so I went to JoAnns!). She's yanking on it so it looks a little wonky when it's not. She also likes to chew on it so it already has marks on it from her sucking on it, lol! There is a big puffy back bow too (check out my knitting blog for more pics)

Toby decided he wanted in on the photo shoot this morning too!
You can barely see it in this pic, but he took a header into the coffee table this morning...thanks to him running around the living room with a blanket over his head. He's going to have a bigbruise over his left eye! But it could have been a much worse gooseegg so I'm relieved it really doesn't look that bad.

T-4 days until we depart for the land of the Yankees!

Mama Made

I have been sewing lately! I have been perfecting the boppy cover and am happy with what I have so far - havent' taken pics yet though.

THIS is what I've been hard at work on lately though

This was by far the most complicated dress I've sewn. It is taffeta, and fully lined (bodice and skirt) with a petticoat of tulle to give the skirt some lift. ADORABLE but a real PITA, especially when it came to the zipper, which is still not the way I really want it but it is at least functional now. I love the trim around the front (it's tiny but if you click on the pic to view larger you will see it) and the giant bow...love it! This one is for Luci to wear to a wedding we have coming up in a week.

The real fun comes in that I'm making another for our Chicago trip this summer....except that one will be white with red accents.

I also need to hem Toby's dress pants as they fit in the waist but hang three inches too long...I hate how companies have such different sizing!

I am knitting a beanie hat right now...cute! The a/c has been out of whack the last few days so it's been too hot to do any knitting or sewing but now that it's cooled off in here I'm hoping to get back in the swing of things!

TTFN!

Fun fun fun in the hot hot sun!

Wtih 100 degree heat we've been sweltering so last Friday we broke out the pool!

Boy was it refreshing! Luci even got in the baby raft and was able to propel herself around the pool! We had a blast!

We had a busy weekend and it just keeps getting busier! Today we had a consultation with an oral surgeon for Toby's extra teeth. He agreed it needed to come out, so we have that scheduled for the end of July now. It was a long drive up there so on the way home we decided to stop by the zoo and walk around for just a little bit. The polar bear was really enjoying his pool today!

When we got home the house was HOT though...come to find out the filter needed changed, BADLY, so we have fixed that and hopefully it will cool off soon. Right now it is just plain HOT in here though!

SweetPea

I'm getting ready to try my hand at Lucy's 6 month pictures so yesterday we had a modeling session to try to figure out which outfits photographed well. These pics were too cute not to share though!

She's so stinking cute! Now I just have to figure out where I want to take the pics...it's going to be hard to do better than I did at 5 months because those I just loved!

First Tooth!

Lucia's first tooth finally poked through today! She's been working on it for awhile, and the past few days we knew it could come through anytime...well today was the day!

Here's the block tower Toby and Daddy built today!

She's also working on crawling - she can get up on all 4's now and stay there! Yikes! That was new this morning too - as of yesterday she'd get up and fall immediately!

We're getting our ducks all lined up to go to Ohio. I hit up the Hallmark store this morning - boy I think they were excited to see me! I had a lot of cards to buy! I also had some other fun errands today but I can't elaborate lest I ruin the suprise for someone!
It was in the mid 90's here today - hot hot hot!!!

A Little Bit of School Pride

:) Happy Sunday! Can you believe it's June already?

Yesterday was Curtis's and my 5 year anniversary! My how things have changed in 5 years! 2 kids, a house, and a dog later, we are still together and mighty happy. But a family does change things. I remember back in the day when we celebrated by getting dressed up and out for a nice dinner and a movie. Yeah, not so much anymore!

Last night Curtis grilled steaks (NY Strip was on sale!) and I made mashed potatoes, a nice salad, and we had good bread from Harris Teeter. Toby had mac and cheese since steak isn't his fav. Oh, and a nice bottle of Asti for Curtis and I. It was a nice anniversary! I also planted about 43 gladiolus bulbs, 6 calla bulbs, and we got the grocery shopping done yesterday morning. I needed red heels for this summer, and while at the shoe store we looked at dress shoes for Toby. We had him sized - he's a 10W!!! The kid has boats for feet! So we bought him new tennis shoes while we were there since his current ones were 8's. Yeesh, no wonder he's been refusing to walk everywhere. Poor kid! But now he has no excuse :)

Curtis and I have been working out on the wii fit for almost 2 weeks now. No weight changes for either of us (boo!) but we both feel more energized and more in control of our balance. I'm no longer walking into doorways! We are having a lot of fun with it, and it is a nice way to keep moving while the weather is so hot - it's 95 degress outside right now! Of course, the grass still needs mowed (that's where Curtis is now).

Wow, June. I guess summer is here, huh?

Toddler Socks

I finally got around to making a pair of toddler socks! I thought these were way cute. I do think they were a little big around, and a tad short, so they may not last until fall when pants weather hits (they really aren't socks to wear with shorts, although the little man decided they worked great with a tshirt, jean shorts, and his brown loafers yesterday, LOL! What can I say, he has daddy's fashion sense, or lack thereof).

These were from a partially used skein of sock yarn, so I'm seeing if I can get a newborn hat out of the rest of it. I'm trying to destash a little...ROTFLMAO, yeah, because that happens. More yarn! More yarn!
