I can't believe Christmas is less than a week away! Time seems to fly by so fast. I am now 28 weeks pregnant, and will be 29 on Friday...unbelievable that I should be so far along already! I've been busy baking and making candy this week to take home with us...I guess I'll have to start packing soon.
It's supposed to be in the 60's here on Saturday...it would figure that as soon as we leave it would warm up! I would love to spend a Christmas Eve with highs in the 60's :)
Curtis is home again!! I picked him up last Thursday on base and we spent the weekend very busy! It's so good to have him home again though. No more trips in the near future!!!
Sorry for the overuse of exclamation points today...I guess I'm excited about Christmas coming and all. There are so many people I haven't seen in a long time! If only I could skip the 11 hour drive...well, I guess we could if we wanted to shell out cash for a plane ticket, but then we wouldn't have a car and all...and driving the car is still cheaper than flying :) And we have new tires so there's less fear about driving in the mountains (with any luck, we will have clear roads the whole drive).
Well, I'm yammering on about nothing so I ought to start the cookies I'm aiming to bake today. In case I don't make it back on in the next few days, have a wonderufl Christmas everyone! I hope the holidays find you healthy and happy, and may the next year be prosperous and joyous.
With much love and Christmas cheer,
Michelle
PS I wanted to add for any readers out there, I read Memoirs of a Geisha last week and it's a great read! I'd heard that it was good years before, and with the movie coming out I wanted to read the novel and see if the movie looked worth seeing...I will definitely try to drag Curtis out to see it (of course in order to do so I have to submit to seeing King Kong first, but I guess that's a fair trade).

Brrrr!
Well, my birthday has come and gone...25 at last! It's an odd age...to feel at the same time so young and so old :) Curtis was not here for my birthday this year, but one of my friends took me out to breakfast, and I decided since I was home alone there was no reason I couldn't spend my birthday in my pajamas. Curtis comes home on Thursday and we'll celebrate my birthday then. I can't believe we have only 2 weeks until Christmas!
It's cold here but there's no snow (yay!). I hear there's a lot of snow in Ohio, so I guess there's a good chance we'll see something while we're home. It will be interesting to see what Lex does with snow! He didn't see any here last year and the year before he was so young that I don't know he'd remember it!
The baby is kicking a lot...especially when I sit or lay down. He can really wallop sometimes!

Why can't cars be indestructible?
Well, Curtis is off to Virginia, and Christmas cards are done and I'm very close to being done with my shopping and wrapping. Everything was going so well...until this morning when I took the car in to have the transmission fluid changed and the tires rotated...and come to find out the front ones are completely bald and can't be rotated with the back ones...and the alignment is off! What?!? Could not come at a worse time for us, and it has to be taken care of immediately for us to be able to drive home for Christmas. Needless to say I am a little depressed right now. I have an appointment with the doctor in an hour, so I'm hoping that goes a lot better than my morning has!
New tires. Not what I needed today. And of course all four need to be replaced...not just the front two. No, that would cost half as much, so we can't do that, can we? If I didn't have my appt today I think I would crawl back in bed and forget everything else I have yet to do :) Wish I could...
