Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Yes, he is!   At 3 months 3 days he rolled belly to back 2 times, and back to belly once.  Nothing like saving it all up for one day!  For the longest time I attributed Toby's taking forever to roll to his size, but with Jeremiah equalling him ounce to ounce, I have to admit Toby may have just been lazy.  He didn't roll until 5.5 months!  Jeremiah is keeping up with the pace big sis set - she rolled at 3 months, 1 week.  If he keeps true to her form, he'll be walking at 9 months, eek!  I'm hoping he decides to take his time and stay a baby for mommy!

He was also practicing his rolling in bed last night - we had to extricate his feet from the crib rails a number of times - him shrieking all the while.  Greeeeeaaaaaat.  Nothing like a fall cold and a baby up numerous times overnight!

Poor Curtis hasn't witnessed the roll yet - by the time he got home last night Jeremiah was already in bed, and he barely sees him in the morning.  Maybe tonight he can witness the Great Rolling Baby.  I'd like to get it on video too!

In the meantime, a few pics!

The Great Pouty Face...good for lots of cuddles

But he's really a faker.

I changed my mind, he looks just like his sister.

Toby's ridiculously loose tooth - it's being pushed out and is hanging at an angle but he won't give it the good pull it needs!
Another week of school wrapped up for Lucy - she's loving preschool!  She has loads of friends, and honestly she knows all the information so far so it's just exploring and making friends - and she's loving it!  She's reading now - in fact, she's sitting on the couch reading a library book next to me as I type.

Toby is still loving first grade.  It's been a big adjustment - we now have homework every night - but he really seems to like it.  He's reading now too - we have 20 minutes of reading homework a night.  Add in spelling words and math practice on the computer and evenings really fill up around here!  I really do feel bad making him do the homework after he's been at school working all day - kids really do have it rough in that department!  At least when Curtis comes home from work, he doesn't have to think about work any more.  He may have other things that need his attention, but he can leave work at work!  Hopefully he loses this front tooth soon - it's really sqeaking me out seeing it hang there.  Wonder if it would wake him up if I just snuck in at night and pulled it out.

Curtis has another half marathon coming up in October, and I'm looking forward to Halloween.  I have some costumes to sew!  It will be nice to get in my sewing room again!

3 Months!

Jeremiah is 3 months today!  He's almost rolling (got a foot stuck in his crib slats today for good measure), chews and sucks on his hands, can grasp toys, bounces himself in his bouncer, and still gets up lots at night to eat.  Yay me,.  He also smiles lots and we get big belly laughs now...especially when we blow raspberries :)

First week of preschool!

This was Lucy's first week of preschool!

She's also had to learn to entertain herself while Toby is in school.  She can get quite loud for one little girl.

Toby's finishing up his second week of first grade.  So far so good...he managed to leave his lunchbox there yesterday, and I''m hoping for the sake of the thermos of milk that it comes home today...I can't even imagine the stink if it spends the weekend at school.

Last night we had soccer, though the game was cut short for lightning.  Given that we had the late game this week I wasn't disappointed, though since everyone let out at the same time for lightning (all soccer and football) we had to wait to get out of the parking lot and probably didn't get home any earlier.  Lucy did so well though!

She is loving preschool, and can't wait to go again on Monday.

Jem had a rough week sleeping wise, but last night was closer to normal so I'm hoping things are working out.  We did an impromptu weight check at a friend's house and he came in at 16 lbs 1 oz.  Yikes!

Toby Time!

Here's a post about Toby!

He's had a busy month of August!  He learned to ride his bike (kind of - he doesn't do turns and has decided he hates the helmet and doesn't really want to ride it even though he had a very successful night of it)
Daddy taught him a way to play War with his Army guys.
We went to see the Guppy land at the AF Museum.
And he started first grade!  (Morning sun makes this picture much harder than the one last year before afternoon kindergarten!)

This morning Jay rode in the stroller to the bus stop and fell asleep...he's finishing up his nap in the stroller still.
Yesterday and today were half days for Toby so Lucy and I are running errands in the morning.  tomorrow will be his first full day.  He is loving the idea of 2 recesses a day in first grade...lol, all boy!  Mommy is loving the quiet and Lucy is enjoying her Ponies this morning all by herself!  For the first time since May it's QUIET!!!!!!

Lucy starts preschool next week...what will I do with myself for those 6 hours a week?

2 Month Appointment

We had Jem's 2 month appt this morning - 14 lbs 11 oz and 24 1/2 inches...almost identical to Toby at that age!  He had 3 shots and hardly cried once they were done!  All in all, a good appointment, barring that it took an hour and I had three kids in there!  Thank goodness the next one I can schedule for when the older two are in school!

Soccer Season!

Soccer season is starting!Today was our first game.  Lucy did great and had a great time - and got her team treat Icee with Gumball in the bottom that she's been looking forward to for a whole year :)

Pretty soccer hairbow!

Go Lucy!
We have 1-2 games a week, and in a couple weeks football starts and we'll be there on Sunday afternoons.  Oh, and dance and martial arts for Toby.  I am definitely sensing fall in the air!  In fact, I started a purple and yellow blanket this weekend for chilly end of season games - purple and yellow are Vandalia's colors!
Yesterday we worked on back to school shopping - this week is our last week at home, then Toby is off for all day 1st grade!  The bus will pick him up just after 8 and he won't be home until after 4...sigh, such a long day!  I will miss him, but at the same time the peace and quiet appeals to me!

Goofy Boy

Yes he is a handsome lad.  7 weeks now, and I will say, I think we hit our crying hump at 6 weeks.  Still has his share of spurts, but I do think there are fewer of them since 6 weeks.

Last night he slept 8-1, 1-5, 5-7.  Best night so far!  When I can get that down to one feed, I will be a much more functional mama.

I'm also working on running...and while I'm looking forward to racing again, I have to admit, when I'm tired and don't feel like running at all...30 minutes of alone time is a big motivator.  A big one.  Heading out today as soon as Curtis gets home from work.

Jem is cooing some now and still full of beautiful smiles.  He has a hint of a laugh and I'm so looking forward to hearing it.  His head control isn't near what Lucy's was at this age...I think it might be all the extra weight he has to lift!  He's getting there, but it takes time.

He's a super good baby though!
