Baby things

I haven't had a lot of time for knitting lately (the baby's witching hours tend to be during my normal knitting time!) but here are a few things I've managed to eke out.

This light blue set is for a friend having a baby boy. I love love love this yarn - Plymouth Yarns Oh My! It is seriously one of the softest yarns I've ever touched. It's 100% nylon, but just silky to touch - perfect for a baby. There's not much on a skein though so be forewarned!

The patterns are from Simple Knits for Cherished Babies. I am guessing size wise they're suitable for about 9 months.
This hat is for a friend having a baby girl. I will make something else to go with it, but I'm not sure what yet. The yarn is Caron Simply Soft Brites - love this yarn for a variety of projects. The hat is small - I would guess 0-3 months. It definitely would fit my 1 month old. I forget where I found this pattern - I guess I need to keep better tabs on them!
Up next: something to match the green hat - I'm thinking booties, but not sure whether I should do mc green and cc purple, or the other way around.

Also, friend having a boy in April. I have 2 skeins of Patons Soy Wool Stripes in blue/ brown that I love. Maybe felted mocs? I have also been considering a baby blanket using the green Caron Simply Soft above and a bright orange, but I know I don't have enough, and I think the blanket would look better in a solid color.

3rd project in queue is a pair of socks for a friend's dh. I have the yarn already so I'm ready for these anytime.

Also coming - my new baby! For Christmas I received a swift and yarn winder. Beautiful! I haven't had them set up together yet, but the swift works like magic. I have a couple skeins here ready to be balled so I can't wait to get it all out and working - and believe me, there will be pictures! I was supposed to do that this weekend, but alas, a reflux baby leaves little time for play. Hopefully we will have her meds worked out soon so she is feeling better, and maybe soon after she will be on a schedule!

Snow Mud!

We don't see a lot of snow in North Carolina, and when we do it's more this variety:
I'm glad Toby got to play some since it was already evaporating the next morning!
And heeeeeeere's Lucy!

1 Month Already

Wow, I can't believe she's a month old already! It's been one fast month!

Here's a pic after the first time that Daddy bathed her...and yes, daddy did her hair!

This is her one-month picture.
A biiiiiiiiig yawn!
A sweet smile...she smiles at us when she's happy now
Toby being sweet for once, lol!
Mommy and Lucy at the park
Today was Luc's 1 month appt. She weighed in at 10 lbs, 12 ounces! She's my healthy girl. When Toby was 1 month, he weighed 12 lbs, 2 ounces, so now she's 1.5 lbs behind Toby...I'm kinda glad - I don't need 2 giant children! 1 is plenty! :)
Sleeping is still not going well...more because of her reflux than anything else. She can go awhile between feedings if we can just get her comfy to sleep. We still have some new things to try - I hope we find something that works soon!!!
Take care and sleep well (just because I'm not doesn't mean you all can't! And think of me when you wake all rested and rejouvenated!),

4 Weeks!

Lucy turned 4 weeks old yesterday. Boy, time is sure flying past!

We're still having issues with her reflux, but we've now got her on medicine and we're hoping to see more improvement soon. She's still miserable much of the evenings :(
Lucy is starting to fit into her 3-6 month clothes already! Yikes, she is sure growing fast!!!

Trip up North

We braved the cold weather AND an hour's drive yesterday to get Lucy's first pictures taken. She was 2 weeks, 6 days old. She did fairly well, we didn't get all the pictures we could have, but she was definitely done, lol! And big brother Toby was so good the whole time!

Here are the two we bought:

Not much else going on here! Have a nice weekend everyone!

First Bath

Thought I'd add some pics of Lucy's first bath!

She pretty much screamed the whole time (which is why you get a pic of the very beginning and the very end), but if I remember right Toby did the same thing, but eventually decided he liked bathtime.

And here is a picture from today

I know she's a little shiny tonight - the ped had us put vasoline on her to help moisturize her dry skin. :)

We went to the ped yesterday - at 2.5 weeks she weighed 9 lbs, 10 ounces! Big girl! And she is 22" long now - the same Toby was when he was born. Everything looks good. They went ahead and ran another bilirubin test (which involved us going to the hospital to the lab there), but the results came back just fine. She's just yellow for now!

And finally, I want to start up my hyenacart this year. I'm planning on knitting and sewing items, but this is really something I want to make a reality this year.
