Lounging Around

I can't believe it's nearly August already. This summer is flying by. Before long Curtis will be starting his grad school classes, then we'll be getting used to a whole new schedule! I'm feeling the baby kick regularly now - with Toby I didn't feel him at all until 21 weeks, so it's nice that I can feel this one so mucn earlier. I'm 19 weeks now. Almost halfway!!!

The BIG Ultrasound!!!!!

We went in for our 18 weeks ultrasound today - and we have pink news! I'm so excited to have one of each - my boy AND my girl! I think Curtis is seeing dollar signs more than anything else, but he at least keeps it to himself :) Everything looked good at the ultrasound - the heartrate was 164 and since it was a Level 2 ultrasound (not always done by obs, but this is one reason I love my office - they do routine Level 2's) we could see all sorts of cool things. You can even see the 4 chambers of the heart beating away! They check to make sure that all the organs are there and in they're proper spot, and since we wanted to know, they checked for gender (she showed her stuff RIGHT away, lol!)
Here is the money shot, lol. It's hard to see on the picture, but the arrow is pointing to 3 little lines (running horizontally). Those lines indicate a girl. So this is most DEFINITELY a girl - the u/s tech was quite sure of herself!
And here is a profile of the head. She sort of had her chin tucked into her chest, so that's why there seems to be a weird angle there :)

Here's some cute pictures of Toby from this week. He climbed on the table to retrieve the Cheerios...that child can spot food from a half mile away, lol! Anyway, it was super cute, so I had to document it with the camera!

Nothing like a little chipmunk, is there?
Anyway, we thought we'd share our PINK news with you all! Have a super weekend!

Chel

Slide Away

We had to buy Toby new shoes yesterday...this is really the first time he's grown out of shoes. He was wearing 5's before but they were getting tight so we went to the shoe store...and walked away with a new pair of 7's! I just can't believe his feet are getting so big! Especially since he doesn't seem to be any taller...just a bigger platform to stand on I guess.
Here is my 17-week picture. It's hard to believe I am so far along already! Yikes!

Fourth and catch up
First of all, we had a nice Fourth. We started out going to the local Pet Parade, followed by the Independence Day Parade. What is a pet parade, you ask? Let me show you...

Toby had a great time watching all the dogs and then the parade pass by.

Later that evening we went to the local park to watch fireworks over the lake. We went early for hot dogs and to enjoy the music. Toby had a great time! He even enjoyed the fireworks, although he started out crying a little...but once he saw that everything was fine, he watched them from his vantage point buried in Daddy's shoulder :)

We had a very nice Fourth, and hope you all did as well.
Curtis being home on Wednesday has thrown both of us off...we cannot figure out what day it is, lol!
Yesterday we drove up to where Curtis will be attending grad school this fall. He had a meeting with someone in his department, so Toby and I went along and played outside, then we went shopping at the nearby shopping centers. We actually went out looking at double strollers, which was great! It was a long day but we got a lot accomplished.
Toby's schedule has been off since the Fourth. He was up a little later last night, so we thought he'd sleep in a little this morning...but no. He was up and very happy much earlier than I was ready to be. He was acting very tired by lunchtime...and I guess he was because in the middle of a conversation with Curtis I looked over and saw...
Yup, he fell asleep in his high chair. And those of you who know him know that this just does not happen with him, lol! He was so out of it. It was very cute though :)Have a great weekend, everyone!
Oh, and I am doing well. I am 16 weeks now (hard to believe!). Curtis keeps telling me I look great this time around, although I haven't figured out whether I really do look good or if he's just trying his darndest to keep me in a good mood :P Either way, smart man!
