7 Weeks

Toby is already 7 weeks! And he's been kind enough to start sleeping longer at night...he's been down by 10 and sleeping a 5-6 hour stretch the last few nights. Yay! He's also been smiling more...those smiles make my day! He enjoys his bath time, and loves having his hair washed.

Curtis and I are enjoying our new car. We drove to the eye doctor this weekend so I could have an exam and get a new pair of glasses...the trip was successful (yay!). We've been taking lots of walks since the weather is beautiful down here. We are still in a drought, but we've had some rain in the last week, and that has helped green things up.

Other than that, life is quiet. The most exciting part of our day is when Toby feels like smiling and playing!

6 Weeks

Tobias is 6 weeks old today! It's hard to believe! Supposedly everything gets better after 6 weeks, so we shall see... Last night he gave me 4 hours, then was up every 2! Argh! He hasn't done that in a long time!

We went to church for the first time with Toby yesterday and he slept the whole time! Yay! Here he is in his Easter outfit:

He is sleeping now, but I think i will have to wake him in a few minutes and make sure he has some awake time...I want to sleep tonight!

And if it wasn't enough that I didn't get much sleep last night, my glasses broke first thing this morning, so now I am stuck wearing contacts, which I don't normally do when I'm tired.

What a Monday!

Hoppy Easter!

Here's wishing you all a wonderful Easter holiday. Curtis and I will be going to church in the morning, and then he is grilling ribs for our Easter dinner.

Yesterday we made it out to the mall and had Toby's picture taken with the Easter Bunny! The picture isn't the greatest since the sun was coming through the window, and Toby was very sleepy...but it was a good way to commemorate his first Easter.

It is VERY hot here today...close to 90! It's hard to believe that Easter is tomorrow with the temperatures the way they are, but that is April in the south!

Have a wonderful holiday!
Love,

Chel and Curtis

Smiles!

Toby is finally starting to smile, though it's impossible to predict them. Still, I caught a few on the videocamera, and extracted this photo (it's not the best, but it still shows off that smile!)

This week has been good...I had my 5 week checkup and all looks good. The weather is gorgeous, and I think we are in search of an Easter bunny this weekend (we're going to try, I think).

Other than that, there's not a lot going on; just wanted to share that gorgeous smile!

A 12 Pounder!

We took Toby to the pediatrician on Friday and he weighed in at 12 lbs, 2 ozs! He's 23 1/2 inches long, which means he's put on an inch and a half since he was born. What a tall baby!

We managed our first trips out this weekend. On Friday we ran up to the mall (an hour away) to take care of some business, and although it was scary to go so far with Toby, we all managed great. Toby slept most of the time, which was a big help to mom and dad! Then yesterday we all went grocery shopping to WalMart, again a successful trip! Yay!

Tobes is doing well, especially since I cut out dairy from my diet...it seems like he was getting gassy from it. I never thought I'd miss milk so much and I could SO go for a BLizzard right now, but on the second hand, this is probably a great way for me to lose weight...I have to choose between a quiet, happy baby and ice cream, which is very bad for the waistline!

And yay for the Opening Day of baseball this week...Go Reds!!!!!

1 Month!

Toby is one month old today! It's hard to believe it's been a whole month has passed since he was born! His one-month appointment is tomorrow, so then we'll get to see how much he's gained.

This picture isn't from today, but it's the most recent picture we have on the computer.

I can't wait until we can capture his smiles on film, but for now they are so fleeting that they are virtually impossible to catch.

4 Weeks!

Toby is 4 weeks old today! It's hard to believe 4 weeks can fly by so fast! He's been giving me one 4 hour sleep session a night, but he makes up for it by eating every 2 hours during the day. What happened to those 3 hour feeding sessions everyone talks about?

He had a nice weekend at home...and then I actually got out to WalMart yesterday! I never thought I'd be so excited to go grocery shopping :) Soon we'll be up to all going on these trips (but I'm not ready yet!)

I'm pretty tired today...I actually got something accomplished this morning while Toby napped, and since I didn't sleep well last night, I think I'm going to take myself off to the couch for a well-deserved nap!
