Well, no news to report. Nada. Nothing. Zip.
Baby seems quite comfortable just hanging out in the womb for awhile...I guess that means I'm making a good home for him! My due date is still almost 2 weeks away, so I know I'm being impatient, but it's hard not to at this stage in the game. And so much for the natural induction methods...I've tried eggplant, fresh pineapple, and loads of basil (not together). On the upside, I've been eating very well lately ;)
Curtis is eager to meet the baby as well...he's been sneaking basil into my food in hopes that particular wives tale might be true. No such luck. Patience has never been one of my virtues!
On the other hand, we should be having the dresser delivered this week or the next, and it would be nice to have it here before the baby arrives. And I would like to make it to March, but that's only two more days away. I guess he'll make an appearance when he's good and ready and not a second earlier!
I thought about posting my 38 week picture, but quite frankly I'm starting to resemble a whale and can hardly stand to look at the pics myself! The dr said at my 37 week appt that the baby looks good sized...at least 8 pounds (but I don't know if he meant 8 pounds then or 8 pounds nearer my due date...I really hope it means he'll be close to 8 pounds in another 2 weeks!!!!!) We'll have to wait and see I guess (again with the patience thing! Argh!)
Ok, enough lamenting on my part. When you're 8.5 months pregnant it's hard to think about anything else.

Horrors! Snow!!
Well, they were sure going nuts last night on the news...according to the anchor we were looking at a potential winter storm, the salt trucks have been out since Friday, and schools were preparing for delays and cancellations. The meterologist on the other hand called for a trace of snow...a potential to see some accumulation on trees...nothing to worry about on the roads. Well, chalk this one up to the meterologist. We saw no snow (no precipitation, for that matter), and now the sun is trying to peek out. But in good ol' North Carolina fashion, there were several school delays and closings this morning, and I'll bet even if there was some snow up north of here, the roads will be completely dry by noon. It's amazing to see them freak out about a chance of winter weather...even when the meterologist says there is nothing to worry about!
Today is President's Day...Curtis is home for the day! Yay! Not that we have any big plans; maybe a trip to WalMart :) But still, a long weekend is always nice!
I am now 37 weeks and ready for baby...ANY DAY NOW. PLEASE!!!!! Of course there's still 2.5 weeks left until my actualy due date, and it could go a week or two longer than that, so I could be looking at another 4.5 weeks of pregnancy. At most. Or at the least, any time now! Unfortunately, there have been no clear signs of impending labor. Sigh.

Happy Valentine's Day!!
It's supposed to warm up here the next few days, although the meteorologists say it will not last...still I plan to fully enjoy the next few days of balmy weather! Well, the full moon didn't work for me last night, so I guess we'll have to see if March's full moon works...if we don't meet our baby before then!
We bought a dresser/ changing table last weekend at an unfinished furniture store...now it's just a matter of waiting for them to stain and sand it for us and deliver. It's a gorgeous dresser, and I can't wait to see it in the nursery!
Other than that, there's not much going on here...again. It's better than the blizzard in the NE though...I can't imagine dealing with all that snow, but on the other hand, I'd have Curtis home with me for a few days, which would be nice. With President's Day coming up, at least there's a 4-day weekend in the works. Yay!
We have been busy watching the Olympics, and I've knitted a hat and booties for the baby...I'll have to get pictures online. It is a really cute yarn blend! Curtis had me record about 6 hours of Olympic coverage last night and today so he could see the curling...we have both been enjoying the snowboarding, and I am looking foward to more ski jumping and moguls. Almost makes me feel like playing in the snow...almost. Not quite.
Hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day and that you can spend it with someone you love.

It's Snowing!
It's barely visible, but there is definitely snow coming down! This is the first snow we've seen in NC this winter, and I have to admit I hope it's the last ;) Still, it's nice to see a few flakes.
Obviously, it's still on the colder side here, but I can't complain too much knowing that it's much colder in Ohio.
Baby and I are doing well. He has been kicking a lot lately, and squirming. I can hardly believe my due date is a month away, which means he could really come anytime (or it could be another 6 weeks, but we won't dwell too long on that one).

Well, I have to admit the last week has been rather ho-hum...not too much to write about. We had a quiet weekend, although on Friday it was up in the 70's and we took advantage of the weather and had a nice walk with the dog. Since then though the temperatures have plummeted back to normal for February...ugh. I was enjoying our unseasonably warm weather! We did both get haircuts this weekend...I actually hadn't cut my hair in 6 months, so it was definitely time for a trim! And it may be awhile before I get out again for some pampering :) We also preregistered for my hospital stay on Friday, so the hospital is expecting me now! We had the chance to peek at the maternity ward too...the rooms there are awesome!
There is also a WebNursery available where they post the baby's picture, so I thought I'd post the link here...add it to your favorites so you can check after the baby is born!

Our hospital is Moore Regional.
I hope you all are having a great week...I am somewhat uncomfortable, but I think that is pretty normal for 35 weeks pregnant. I think I'm ready for this baby to come anytime now!!!

Last Childbirth Class...
I guess we are now qualified to be parents! Last night was our last class and we covered all the newborn basics, including breastfeeding. They even sent us home with a copy of "What to Expect the First Year." Yay for free books! I'm glad the class is over though...Monday nights were rather hectic with Curtis not getting home until almost 6 and having to be at the class by 6:30, so it will be nice not to have to schedule around that anymore. It will also make planning dinner much more simple! Now we need to get to the hospital to preregister, so with any luck we will get that done this weekend sometime.
It looks like we will be inheriting a 55 gallon fishtank tonight, so more moving of furniture...sigh. But this is the last piece, so I can finally get the office put together. At least until we move. Whenever that may be.
Oh, here's another maternity picsture, for anyone interested in seeing them.

Lex can be so darn cute when he wants to be...for our Christmas picture it took forever and a lot of treats to gain any cooperation from him, but try to exclude him from pictures and he invites himself in :) We figured if he wanted to be in them so badly, we'd let him...the problem was trying to keep him out of the pictures!

Feels like Spring!
Spring is in the air...for today, anyhow. It's already almost 60 degrees and it's not even 11am yet! Today is supposed to be nice, but it is supposed to cool down for the rest of the week (highs in only the 50's..eek!) :)
We had a nice quiet weekend here...one thing we did do is take some maternity pictures! It's amazing what can be done with a digital camera and a sheet.

Like I said, there doesn't seem to be too much going on right now, but maybe that's a good thing...life will be hectic enough before too long.
