Post o' updates

Happy Mother's Day! I have had a wonderful Mother's Day. Yesterday, Curtis took Toby out mother's day shopping, which left me with a house to myself for almost 2 hours - divine! Today I got a wonderufl present - Toby's first experience with fingerpaints!

Here he is playing "doggie" - he carries his lovey in his mouth and shakes his head like the dog - it really is hilarious! He's seen Lex shaking his stuffed animals a few too many times!

And here he is just watching the world go by...

I had to post this picture - I so rarely get to see him sleep because the instant you open his door he wakes up - he tends to be a very light sleeper. But we had to wake him mid-nap this morning for church, and he was out. of. it. So I had to commemorate the occasion with a picture!

Here are Toby and mama on Mother's Day!

This is the necklace Curtis and Toby gave me for mother's day - isn't it pretty! Curti s also brought home yellow roses for me yesterday - what a sweetheart he is! Double brownie points for him!

It has been pretty busy around here lately. The weather has been lovely though. Tonight we took a walk before Toby's bedtime. The mosquitoes aren't even that bad - yet. I'm sure their day is coming! In the meantime we're enjoying the weather.

The Survivor finale is tonight so we're going to watch that as soon as Curtis finishes a water change in his tank. Have a wonderful Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers out there!

Love,

Chel

Socks

I knitted these with Sockotta sock yarn...it's ok to handle, but not as soft as pure wool would be. Still they're cute and I like them. MY 100purewool is on it's way and I'm looking foward to the diaper covers I can make with it! I'm also starting a pair of booties with the leftover sockotta.

First Haircut

Well we delved into a new realm today. I have been wholeheartedly resisting the first haircut, even though the long hairs on the neck and over the ears were getting quite long...they finally bothered me enough that I pulled out the scissors today.

Here is the before

I decided the easiest route would be to have him outside in his swing with something to keep his little hands busy...and it honestly worked like a charm! He was so happy and relaxed to be outside that he stayed very still for me! It's not the best haircut in the world (the back is definitely not even enough for me), but I didn't nick him at all, so I'm quite satisfied :) He looks much better now, and I'm not the slightest bit sad he's passed this milestone!

Goodbye flyaways!

We've been pretty busy around here lately, but I also wanted to post this pic of Toby and Lex...believe it or not I didn't post them at all! They are almost inseperable of late.

He belongs in the zoo...

Ok, but first the long promised tank pics. These aren't the best, but it's very hard to take good pics of a tank, as I'm learning!

Right about in the middle of this picture is the skunk shrim (he's red with white stripes). Curtis brought him home today and he's looking GREAT! He's moving all over the tank. You can also see one of the clown fish.

Here's another of the clown.

Toby at the zoo today

It was a pretty day to get out. We met some friends at the zoo for just a little bit, then ran some errands (including a trip to the fish store :) It was a very nice Saturday.

Oh, and Toby said Bear when he saw the Polar Bear! Yay!!! It was so cute, and I was glad Curtis was standing there too or I wouldn't have believed I heard it! He only said it once, but it was clear as a bell.

We're supposed to get storms tonight, but I hear that some family has been getting rain...guess you're all sending it our way, huh?

Have a wonderful weekend everybody!

Easter Eggs!

We went to a friend's for Easter dinner today and we had an egg hunt for the boys! They were so cute, picking up the eggs and filling their baskets. They were only amused for about 4 eggs, and then they wanted to play on the slide and in the swings. They had a great time. Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

We took Toby's Easter pictures today! He behaved very well for us, although no big smiles. He ca nget so stubborn about that, lol! His shirt was tucked in when we started but in no time there were shirttails everywhere. Sigh.

Too bad you can barely see Lex here. A black dog against a black background just doesn't show up well. But Toby's face is priceless!

Happy Easter to everyone. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. We are going to a friend's house for Easter dinner and an egg hunt for the kids...it sounds like a lot of fun! I'm really excited.

We love you all and miss those of you we aren't seeing. Hugs to all!

Atlanta, GA

Toby and I made a trip to Atlanta this week! We met up with 2 other moms and their babies and kids and had a BLAST! 3 moms and 5 kids...quite the combo! We saw the Georgia Aquarium and the Atlanta Zoo, and the Coca-Cola Museum...awesome! It was quite an adventure and I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

For some strange reason my suitcase was THE place to hang out! The babies loved sitting there! Here is Toby perched on the suitcase, and that is NOT his paci, lol! But he sure had fun with it for a while!

Toby learned how to pop his shoes off in his stroller...and we lost one. Grrrrr. Here he is shortly after I figured it out...he was so happy to be rid of them!

My fav...the elephant at the zoo. He came down to the water and played and drank for the crowd! You've never seen me so elated (by the way I have about 10 pics of the elephant, lol!

I love this pic of the gorilla...I thought it turned out well!

These are the 2 whale sharks at the aquarium! They are HUGE but it's hard to show that in a picture.

I love this picture of the jellyfish...I was actually behind a large crowd when I took it, so I was impressed with how well the pic came out!

This one was harder to take...you couldn't use a flash, so I had several blurry pics. This was the best though.

We had a great time, and Toby did so well in the car. I can't wait to go again sometime with Curtis. He would LOVE the aquarium and the new coke museum opens in May.

The weather has cooled off here for at least the short term. We actually have freeze warnings out this weekend! I hope I don't lose all my bulbs that are planted...I would be so sad. I planted 50 some bulbs! That was a lot of work!

Enjoy the pics!
